Rossie Sarris ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Craig Funeral Home on Mar. 10, 2026.Rossie Geraldine (Gerry) Russell Sarris, 92, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully at Bailey Family Center for Caring on March 10, 2026. Gerry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. She is predeceased by her husband Steve A. Sarris, infant son Anthony Russell Sarris, parents George Lewis and Gladys Russell, and brother Samuel Russell. Gerry is survived by her daughter Ellen Kelbert (David), granddaughter Emily (Matt), great-grandson Reid, brothers Raymond Russell and Larry Russell, and sister Linda Crosby.Gerry was born in Madison, Florida and raised in St. Augustine. She graduated from Ketterlinus High School in 1952 and married the love of her life, Steve, in 1953. She was the consummate hostess, making everyone feel welcomed into her home with delish food and great conversation. She enjoyed spending summers in the North Carolina mountains where she andSteve developed many close friendships.Gerry was an active member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, the Ladies Philoptochos Society, and was one of the Founders of the St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine in St. Augustine along with her husband Steve.Services will be held Monday, March 16th at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 2940 CR 214. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m., with internment at Evergreen Cemetery, 505 North Rodriguez Street. A Markaria/Meal of Blessing will be held in the church fellowship hall.
