Rosemary M. Armour, lovingly known as Rose or Rosie, passed away on March 10, 2026, in Shelby, North Carolina, at the age of 85. Born on May 15, 1940, in Eunice, West Virginia, she brought warmth and generosity to everyone she met through her loving smile and caring heart.

Rosemary found deep joy in her family, friends, and community. She loved sewing, reading, cooking for those she held dear, and traveling to flea markets with her lifelong companion, Bud. She cherished time spent at the Thompson farm, where her remarkable ability to create something from nothing was widely admired. Her cooking and welcoming spirit drew loved ones together, building memories that will endure.

A devoted Christian, Rosemary was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, where her faith served as a constant source of comfort and peace.

She was the beloved lifelong companion of the late Bud Thompson. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Hazel Miller, her siblings Boyd Miller and Sarah Mulligan, and her granddaughter Joy.

She is survived by her children Tommy Armour and his wife April, Larry Armour, Tony Armour and his wife Karen, Terry Armour, John Michael Thompson and family, Bradley Thompson and family, Brian Thompson and family, and Mark Thompson and family; her sisters Nancy Garringer and Julie Armstrong, her brother Richard Miller; her grandchildren Luke Armour, Daryl Armour, Elaine, Crystal Armour, Justin Armour (Kayce), Josh Armour (Jennifer), and many nieces and nephews. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Jes and Wes, Ariana and Nia, Sawyer, Ethan, Blanton, Conri and Teegan, and Lyndi. Rosemary enjoyed a long career at Lowe’s, where she formed lifelong friendships, and later worked alongside her son Tony at his automotive shop.
