March 5, 1946— March 7, 2026
Lakewood, CO
Rosemary Lynne Schwoebel Linderman-Worlein, Psy.D., passed away on March 7, 2026, surrounded by family in Lakewood, Colorado. Born on March 5, 1946, in New Rockford, North Dakota, she was the youngest child of Lynn Schwoebel and grew up on Main Street in a small, thriving Midwest town where her father served as mayor and vice president of the local bank. The baby of the family with two much older brothers, Richard and Lyle, Rosemary was active in her high school band, was named homecoming queen, and later married her high school sweetheart and homecoming king, Lowell Linderman, in August 1967.
After college, the couple moved to Austin, Minnesota, where Rosemary raised their three sons while working as a dietician at the Austin Clinic. It was there that she discovered her deep interest in mental health, particularly in counseling individuals with eating disorders. A strong advocate for personal growth and education, she encouraged others to take charge of their lives in pursuit of meaning and happiness. In October 1983, after years of marital strife, she made the courageous decision to separate and rebuild her life. She pursued her passion for mental health sciences with remarkable determination, earning a doctoral degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology in 1992 while commuting 1.5 hours each way to night classes in the Twin Cities through harsh Minnesota winters, all while balancing work and caring for her youngest son.
Her training culminated in a 12-month forensic psychology internship at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, where she developed a profound interest in mental health evaluations. There she interviewed some of the most dangerous and disturbed individuals in the Florida prison system, often under challenging conditions. Returning to Minnesota, she established her own practice and conducted hundreds of mental health assessments for court trials and criminal cases over the next thirty years.
In the midst of her professional life, Rosemary joined the Austin Rotary Club, where she met the love of her life, John Worlein. They married in 2002 and later retired to the sunny beaches of Gulfport, Florida. Together they enjoyed an active social life at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, served as docents at the Salvador Dali Museum, and shared many Caribbean cruises and travels. In her later years she joined writers groups and authored two books: “Grains of Truth: Grains of Deceit” in 2018 and “Deviancy” in 2022. In 2024, after John’s passing from progressive lung disease, she moved to Lakewood, Colorado, to be closer to family.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Lyle Schwoebel. She is survived by her three sons, David Linderman of Berlin, Germany, Ryan Linderman of Oakland, California, and James Linderman of Lakewood, Colorado; her nephews, Paul Schwoebel of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Eric Schwoebel of Boston, Massachusetts; and her grandchildren, Max and Sophie Linderman of Oakland, California, and Owen and Emery Linderman of Lakewood, Colorado.
