RoseMary Kellum

March 13, 1925 March 13, 2026

Mooresville, IN

RoseMary Kellum passed away on March 13, 2026, her 101st birthday, at her home in Mooresville, surrounded by family. Born on March 13, 1925, in Waverly, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Gladys (Hedrick) Aldrich.

A proud graduate of Mooresville High School as valedictorian of the Class of 1943, RoseMary went on to earn two bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University, one in chemistry and one in dietetics. For more than three decades, she operated the Kellum Swim School from her home, teaching swimming lessons, lifeguard training, WSI certification, and water aerobics to thousands of children and adults. Her deep commitment to service also led her to serve as American Red Cross Regional Blood Director and as a longtime Girl Scout leader. In recognition of her many contributions to the community, she was named Mooresvillian of the Year in 1986 and Mooresville High School Alumni of the Year in 1987.

A longtime member of Mooresville First United Methodist Church, RoseMary sang in the choir and shared her warmth and hospitality with all who knew her. She found joy in cooking, sewing, and playing cards. Her welcoming home and warm hugs left a lasting impression on everyone she touched. Many knew her simply as Mom, including her beloved Pham daughters Sugar, Bich Thuy, Cybele, Autumn, Amy, and June.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kellum; daughter, Margaret Worsham; sons-in-law, Greg Worsham and Don Holton; brother, Reuben Aldrich; and sister, Janet McClain. RoseMary is survived by her children, Mary Beth Kellum of Ortonville, Michigan, Charles “Chuck” (Julia) Kellum of Anderson, Sallie (Michael) Thomas of Mooresville, Grace Holton of Windsor, New York, and Susan (Brian) Crites of Waukee, Iowa; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces, a nephew, and close family friends.
