Rosemary Heuke O'Bryan

October 10, 1928 March 9, 2026

New Albany, IN

Rosemary Heuke O'Bryan passed peacefully on March 9, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on October 10, 1928, in Evansville, Indiana, she graduated from Holy Rosary Academy, where she first cultivated her lifelong love of learning and the arts.

Rosemary devoted herself first and foremost to her family as a loving homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband and children. After her family had grown, she began a successful career as a bookkeeper, bringing the same care and precision to her work that she had always shown at home. She was known for her exceptional baking, delighting family gatherings with her homemade jellies and coffee cakes. Her creative hands were equally skilled at painting, quilting, and needlework, producing beautiful pieces that filled her home and reflected her meticulous dedication.

For 65 years, Rosemary shared a deep and abiding marriage with her husband, William L. O'Bryan. Together they lived their faith daily, often praying the rosary side by side, and instilled in their children the values of family, honesty, and compassion. She took great pride and joy in her large family.

Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Karen (Jerry) Bradford and Patricia Anne Phillips; her sons, William “Dennis” (Patricia) O’Bryan, Glenn Alan (Lynn) O’Bryan, Lawrence Robert (Nancy) O’Bryan, Stephen Joseph (Cathy) O’Bryan, and Timothy Charles (Karen) O’Bryan; her sisters, Dorothy Craven and Joan McGee; her brother, Robert (JoDonna) Heuke; 23 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. O’Bryan; her parents, Charles and Mary Florence Heuke; her brothers, Thomas, Charles, David, and Brother Blaise Heuke; her grandchild, Mitchell Lee O’Bryan; and her son-in-law, Rex Phillips.
