Passed March 7, 2026
Indianapolis, IN
Rosemarie Foster passed away on March 7, 2026, and rejoined the love of her life, her husband Jerry Lee Foster, who predeceased her on July 7, 2020. A beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted friend, she was known for her fierce spirit, unyielding energy, and unapologetically authentic presence. Her intense loyalty and love for family, friends, and community left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She raised five children, eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews, always making time to forge a special connection with each one. Those who experienced her penetrating stare understood the expectation to rise to the moment, while her warm smile and infectious laughter created memories that endured. Rosemarie took great joy in feeding others, preparing homemade meals for family gatherings—often including “adopted” guests—with the familiar refrain, “What’s one more?” Her kitchen counters were frequently home to large containers of homemade granola, jars of pickles, and fermenting yogurt, and she proudly carried on Polish traditions with pierogi and borscht at holiday meals.
A passionate gardener with a deep connection to nature, she tended beautiful spaces at her home on Hinesley Avenue, the Riviera Club, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art. She opened her home to numerous exchange students over the years, embracing and supporting a diverse world. Her unwavering faith, spirit, and devotion to those she loved and to her community will be deeply missed.
