Rosella Hensley ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Mar. 9, 2026.Rosella Cole Hensley, 88, was born November 3, 1937, in Holden, WV, the daughter of the late Charles Szenes Cole and Mary Julia Dunch Szenes Cole. She was a resident of Logan Center, a former resident of McConnell, WV. Rosella passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her loving husband of 55 years, Eugene Hensley. They were married in her parents' home on October 8, 1969.Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Mary Viola Cole McDorman and her husband, Jim, and Mildred Ann Ratkoski and her husband, Richard, and her brother, Charles William "Billy" Cole and his wife, Mary Elizabeth.Rose was a Christian and a member of the McConnell Tabernacle for more than 50 years. She loved to read her Bible and sing in the church choir. She had a talent and love for art and drawing. She also loved reading and working in her flower garden. In her younger days, Rose was an avid babysitter and nanny. She was a saleslady for Avon for many years, and she also worked in food service at the old Logan Hospital. She then became a housewife, mother, and grandmother. Rose was a good friend to everyone who knew her and greeted everyone with her beautiful smile.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debra Rose (William) Darby; her granddaughter, Graciana Rose (Ethan) Gartin; her grandson, Richard Andrew (Brandie) Darby; her great-grandson, Marshall Bryant and her great-granddaughter, Aria Bryant. Additionally, Rose leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.The family wishes to extend thanks to the Logan Center for her care, Logan Regional Medical Center's ER staff along with the staff on the 5th floor.The family wishes for you to attend her services on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the McConnell Tabernacle at McConnell, WV. The visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Keith McClung officiating.Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
