Rose Mary Hurt

Rose Mary Walker Hurt, 58, of Cumberland, Kentucky, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born on May 18, 1967, to the late Morgan and Ruth Creech Walker, she was a devoted homemaker who embraced life with joy and gratitude.

Though her health declined in her later years due to respiratory illness, Rose Mary remained resilient in spirit. She found comfort in simple pleasures, spending quiet hours playing games on her phone and watching her favorite television series, Little House on the Prairie. Her quiet strength and enduring good nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Rose Mary had a gift for brightening any room she entered. Her quick wit, warm and loving personality, and ever-present smile lifted the hearts of everyone around her. Those fortunate enough to know her were enriched by her presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Elmer David Hurt, and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, David Shane Hurt of Cumberland, Kentucky; her daughter, Brandy Kaye Hurt of Pineville, Kentucky; her brother, Paul Kelly of Cumberland, Kentucky; and her sister, Shelby Swoger of Glen Allen, Virginia. In keeping with her wishes, there were no services. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
