Rose Marie Wurm

Passed March 5, 2026

Willard, OH

Rose Marie (Karl) Wurm, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in Powell, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Crawford County, Ohio, to Robert and Bertha (Heydinger) Karl, Rose spent much of her life in Willard, Ohio, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. She attended Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Sandusky and later earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Heidelberg University in Tiffin. A registered nurse known for her compassion and leadership, Rose enjoyed a distinguished career and retired in 2010 as Vice President of Clinical Services at Mercy Hospital in Willard.

A lifelong and devoted parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Rose lived her Catholic faith with quiet strength. She instilled that same deep faith in her children and grandchildren, teaching them to turn to the Lord in times of joy and sorrow. She found happiness in gardening alongside her mother at the family farm, cooking for loved ones, painting, and traveling to create lasting memories.

On June 17, 1967, Rose married Harold “Pete” Wurm. Together they shared a devoted marriage and raised three children. She is survived by her children, Cindy Jacobsen of Powell, Ohio; Tim Wurm of Sunset Beach, North Carolina; and Patrick (Kim) Wurm of Ostrander, Ohio. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Rachel, Ryan, Jack, and Ellie Jacobsen, and Jillian and Caroline Wurm. Rose is also survived by her siblings Kathy (Clem) Kanney, Diane (Bill) Young, Linda (Dave) Meadows, Suzanne (Dave) Stump, Fred (Sandy) Karl, and sister-in-law Susan Karl. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Kenneth Karl, and sister-in-law Vicki Eppley Karl.

Rose will be remembered for her compassionate heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith. Her life was defined by caring for others, and her greatest joy was her family—especially her beloved grandchildren. The kindness, faith, and love she shared will remain a lasting legacy in the many lives she touched.
