Rose Brown ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Iles Grandview Park Chapel on Mar. 11, 2026.Rose Marie Brown, 86, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, passed peacefully on March 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.Rose was born on May 30, 1939, in Des Moines, Iowa, where she attended school and built the foundation of a life centered on family and friendship. She was married to the love of her life, Niel E. Brown. Together they built a life filled with adventure and cherished memories. Over the years they traveled extensively, visiting Europe, Australia, Alaska, and many other destinations. Rose especially loved going on cruises and exploring the world with others.Rose was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Jeri Brown and Vicki Brown. She deeply cherished her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was recently blessed with a great-great-granddaughter.Known for her warm hospitality, Rose loved hosting holidays and gatherings, creating special moments for family and friends to come together. She loved spending time outdoors, especially sitting on her deck and visiting with family and friends. She spent much of her life running her sewing shop, Rose's Sewing, where she shared her talent and passion with many in the community. She had a vibrant personality and loved being involved in social clubs, often planning gatherings and events with friends. She spent many years actively involved with Daughters of the Nile, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, and the Elks Lodge #25. She loved socializing and treasured the friendships she built through these organizations.She is survived by her daughters, Jeri Brown and Vicki Brown; her sister, Pennie Cruchlow; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Niel E. Brown; mother, Ann Wardwell; and sisters, Mary Ballantini and Betty Raygor.A celebration of Rose's life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on May 3, 2026, at the Elks Lodge; 5420 NE 12th Avenue, Pleasant Hill, Iowa.Memorial contributions can be directed to Rose's family.Online condolences are welcome at www.ilescares.com.
