November 16, 1939— March 12, 2026
Cedar City, UT
Rose Marie Longazo, born Williams, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 86 in Cedar City, Utah, surrounded by family and friends. Born on November 16, 1939, in her grandparents’ home in Airmount, Mississippi, she was the second of four children and the only daughter of James L. and Viola L. (Vickery) Williams. Her father, a U.S. Navy veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor, moved the family frequently during his military career. Rose spent her early childhood in Coffeeville, Mississippi, before the family relocated to California, Virginia, and Florida, eventually settling in Long Beach. At age seven, she began attending a local Methodist church with her brother, a faith that remained important to her throughout her life.
In 1956, at the age of sixteen, Rose married the love of her life, Robert LeRoy Longazo. Their marriage lasted 69 years. Together they raised seven children in a small three-bedroom home in Huntington Beach, California, later moving to a larger home in Norco. A devoted working mother, Rose helped support her large family as a quality control inspector for microchips at Microsemi Corp. in Santa Ana for thirteen years and later owned and managed a 7-Eleven store in Norco. Known for her kindness, she often opened her home to those in need.
Rose had a lifelong love of reading, particularly church history, biographies, and world news. From a young age she enjoyed studying house plans and interior decorating, interests that stayed with her always. She also cherished history and travel.
She is survived by six children: Debbie L. Fuller of Cedar City, Linda M. (Ralph D.) Hernandez of Redding, California, R. Michael Longazo of Corona, California, Ronald R. (Debra A.) Longazo of Corona, California, Teresa G. (Martin W.) Jiles of Trinidad, Colorado, and Steven J. (Taralyn) Longazo of North Salt Lake, as well as ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her daughter Pamela A. Longazo, and her son-in-law Benjamin R. Fuller.
