May 25, 1946— March 9, 2026
Palmetto, GA
Rosalyn Stover was born on May 25, 1946, in Newnan, Georgia, and passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Palmetto, Georgia, at the age of 79.
She dedicated her career to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Newnan Hospital, where she served her community with compassion and commitment for many years. Her devotion to her patients and colleagues reflected a woman who always put others first and gave of herself without hesitation. Rosalyn fought Stage 4 ovarian cancer with remarkable strength and courage for five and a half years. Her family finds comfort knowing she is now free from pain and reunited in heaven with loved ones who went before her.
Those who knew her described Rosalyn as beautiful inside and out. She possessed a warm smile, a bubbly personality, and a natural kindness that made people feel welcome and cared for. Whether caring for patients, mentoring younger nurses, or simply greeting someone in town, she had a way of making others feel valued. She was remembered for her elegance, her sense of humor, and the quiet strength that defined her both professionally and personally.
Her grandchildren were the joy of her life. Over the past five years, she and her granddaughter Erica Rose became inseparable, spending every afternoon together after school and nearly every day during the week when school was out. Their special bond remains a treasured memory for the entire family.
Rosalyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Ronald Stover, and her cherished son, Jonathan Stover. She is survived by her son David Stover and his wife Lisa, along with their children Lydia, Charlie, and Erica; her grandson Nathan; five additional granddaughters; and her great-grandson Eli. She is also survived by her sisters, Aileen Evans (Johnny) and Margie Gill (Jerry), along with many extended family members and dear friends.
From her son: Mom was the person who shaped my life and the example I tried to follow every day. She showed me what strength looks like, what compassion looks like, and how to always show up for the people you love. I will carry her lessons, her spirit, and her love with me for the rest of my life. She will always be my hero, and she will be deeply missed every single day.
