Rosalind Weaver

September 23, 1969 March 12, 2026

Harlem, NY

Rosalind Weaver, known affectionately as Rain, was born on September 23, 1969, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Ophelia Catherine Mims and Clifton Weaver. The youngest of five children, she later made Harlem her home. Rain spent many years in healthcare and customer service, where her dedication and genuine ability to connect with people from all backgrounds left a lasting impression on those she served. Though illness kept her from working in recent years, the care and kindness she showed throughout her career remained with many.

Rain found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She cherished time with family, good food, and shared laughter. She loved playing blackjack, poker, and bingo, and her lively spirit and wonderful sense of humor could keep a room laughing for hours. She also loved to dance and brought energy and joy wherever she went.

A defining chapter in Rain’s life was the love and responsibility she embraced for her family. When her sister struggled with addiction, Rain stepped in to care for her niece and nephew, Sakinah Weaver and Dominick Weaver. She brought them home from the hospital after their births and went on to raise Sakinah as her own daughter. This act of generosity and devotion revealed the depth of her caring heart.

Rain is survived by her beloved daughter Sakinah Weaver, her cherished granddaughter Imon Muse, her partner Scott Bullock, her sister Brenda Weaver, her brother Howard Revelle, her nieces and nephews Michelle Weaver, Tomeshia Weaver, Dominick Weaver, Sabrina England, Lakota Assent, and Joseph Watford Jr., her great nieces and nephews Fatima and Machai Lucky, Javonte Weaver, Harmony and Legacy Weaver, Autumn Freeman, Melvin Freeman Jr., and Anthony and Demetrius Smallwood, her goddaughter Kenyatta Crum, and her special friend Samantha Stedman, who was like a sister to her, along with many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Gloria Watford and Joyce Weaver, her aunts Emma Buggie and Deloris Askew, her cousin Shelia Revelle, and her dearest friend Leatrice Johnson. Rain passed away on March 12, 2026, due to medical complications.
