RosaElia Cortes Moran passed into the loving arms of the Lord on March 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in her home in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 84. She was born on March 1, 1942 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to loving parents, Micaela Cortes and Jose Zeferino Cortes. RosaElia later made her home in Floresville, Texas, where she became a longtime member of the community. RosaElia was also a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and her faith guided her life with humility, kindness, and devotion.RosaElia built a beautiful life alongside her beloved husband, Herminio Moran, and devoted herself to caring for her family as a homemaker. She found great joy in tending to her garden. RosaElia had a special gift for gardening—she could make anything grow. Her family finds comfort in knowing that RosaElia's faith carried her home, and that the love she planted so faithfully in the hearts of her family will continue to grow for generations to come.RosaElia was preceded in death by her parents, Micaela Cortes and Jose Zeferino Cortes; her brother, Juan Cortes; and her nephews, Jose Zeferino Nolasco Cortes and Oscar Nolasco Cortes. She is survived by her loving husband, Herminio Moran and her children, Jorge Moran, Michelle Moran, Roxanne Moran (George Whitall), and Mauricio Moran (Sandra); and her grandchildren, Jorge Moran, Diego Moran, and Landon Moran. RosaElia also leaves behind her sisters, Esperanza Nolasco and San Juana Del Valle (Alfredo); and her nieces and nephews, Claudia Del Valle, Enrique Hernandez, Rosa Guadalupe Nolasco-Cisneros, Maria Garcia, Maria Lujan, and Jesus Nolasco.Visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:00 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am and Interment will directly follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jorge Moran, Jorge Moran Cuellar, Mauricio Moran, Diego Moran, Alfredo Del Valle, Jesus Nolasco, Enrique Hernandez, and George Whitall.
