Rosa Warner Bristow Hawn, 91, of Franklin, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Sentara Obici Hospital. Born in McDowell, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Sewell Jackson Warner and Gertrude McCray Warner. She was predeceased by her husbands, Jasper Carpenter, Jr., and Donald Bristow; a son, Tony Carpenter; a daughter, Debbie Alexander; a sister, Betty Hammer; and brothers, Jack Warner and I.G. Warner.
A 1953 graduate of Monterey High School, Rosa enjoyed a long career as a District Sales Manager for Stanley Home Products. She was a member of Jordan’s Crossing in Suffolk. Those who knew her will remember her deep love for her family and the quiet devotion she showed to those closest to her.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Curtis (Jim) and Sharon Jett Thomason (Bobby); two grandchildren, Jacqualine Jett and Tiffany Hinkle (Landon); and two great-grandchildren, Elijah Copeland and Maverick Hinkle. The family wishes to especially acknowledge Glenn Ray Pierce and family for the love they showed her throughout the years, as well as her dear “daughter on the hill,” Ms. Sue Hunter. She also held a special place in her heart for her son-in-law, Kirk Alexander, and his son Wesley, who remained devoted to her. She cherished Kim and Jim’s children—James (Amber) and their daughter Anastasia, Tyler, Taylor, Rye, Emmerson, and Stephanie—and was proud of her stepsons Will, Jim, and Jeff Bristow.
