Rosa Rodriguez, a cherished mother and beloved Guely, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, in Lubbock at the age of 70. Born on February 13, 1956, in Mission, Texas, to Baltazar and Gloria Cardenas, she grew up as one of eleven children. A proud graduate of Seagraves High School and Texas Tech University, Rosa spent her career as an elementary school teacher in Lamesa, a role she embraced with dedication until her retirement.

She brought remarkable creativity and artistic flair to everything she did. Beyond the classroom, Rosa’s talents shone in the kitchen, where her cooking and baking reflected her exquisite attention to detail and her independent, strong-willed spirit. With a vibrant personality and generous heart, she touched countless lives, creating memories that continue to nourish and comfort those who knew and loved her. In every recipe passed down and every meal shared in her honor, her love remains alive.

Rosa is survived by her children, Isaac Rodriguez and wife Annie, and Sonia Cantu and husband Jesus, all of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Joaquin Cantu and Jemma Rodriguez; nine siblings, Martha Guerra, Francisco Cardenas-Salas, Elsa (Roberto) Diaz, Norma (Diego) Cardenas Cedillo, Julio (Viki) Cardenas, Cesilia (Vidal) Sanchez, Patricia (Domingo) Lopez, Gabriela (Kenny) Sanchez, and Miguel Cardenas; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Baltazar Cardenas, Jr.
