Rosa Anna Burton, 80, peacefully departed from this world on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her home. A lifelong native of Asheville,  Rosa was a daughter of the late Sandy and Jessie Hines Burton. She attended  Asheville city schools.

She was the cornerstone for her grands, offering unwavering stability, encouragement, and love that carried them through life’s challenges.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Nathaniel, James, and Jerry Burton; sisters, Annette Mills, Dorothy Bowman, and Leeyvonne McSwain; as well as great-granddaughter, Sa’Bria Boseman and great-grandson Kanajai Burton.

She leaves behind a loving family who held her close to their hearts, daughters, Carol Burton, Kathyrine Burton, Loretta Smith, Sonya Burton, and Tracy Burton; sisters, Carolyn Johnson and Burlois Dixon; brother, Carl Allen; fourteen grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and cherished friends.

Rosa’s life was a testament to love and devotion. Her memory will forever be a guiding light to all who knew her, and for the joy she brought to the family she so deeply cared for.
