Ronnie “Bubba” Edward Sweeney, Sr.

Ronnie “Bubba” Edward Sweeney, Sr., age 66, of College Grove, Tennessee, passed away on March 8, 2026. Born in Franklin, Tennessee, to the late Bill Sweeney and Elizabeth Sharp, Bubba spent his working years as a truck driver for Buford Trucking and Waters Trucking. He found deep joy in fishing, working on cars, attending races, and spending quiet days outside on the farm. Above all, he cherished time with his children and grandchildren, and he never turned down a good bowl of strawberry or vanilla ice cream.

Bubba was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Margaret Elizabeth Sweeney; his grandson, Gunner Adams; his sister, Lisa Anderson; his father- and mother-in-law, Ralph and Betty Harper; and his brother-in-law, Ralph “Bugg” Harper.

He is survived by his sons, Ronnie (Amanda) Sweeney, Jr. and William “Buddy” (Tabatha) Sweeney; daughters, Jackie (Wesley) Adams and Crystal (Jason) Akin; brothers, Calvin Sweeney, Jeffrey “Mookie” Sharp, and Jesse Sharp; sister, Judy (Rondale) Humphrey; and a large, loving family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated caretakers with Caris Hospice who supported them during his final days.
