He was born in Silver Creek on February 16, 1949, the son of the late Norris and Dorothy (Schiedel) Lawton.He was a graduate of Lake Shore Central School and worked for the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center, Helmuth, NY for over 25 years. Ron also worked for (STEL) Southern Tier Environment for Living for approximately 10 years and then after retirement, he drove for Meals on Wheels for a short time. He was very artistic, crafty and was an avid gardener. Ron was generous with homemade gifts and lending a helping hand. He enjoyed watching the Bills and listening to 60's music, especially the Beach Boys.Ron had a big heart and often served in a parental role for his beloved nieces & nephews, who survive and include; Paula (Bill) Ferneza, Tim (Karin) Braidich, Amy (jeff) Dean and Brett (Jen) Braidich. He was very close and proud of his great nieces & nephews; William (Crystal) Buchholz, Lauren (Mike) Nelson, Megan (Nick) DeJoe, Shelby (Shon) Russell, TJ Braidich, Brianna Braidich, Victoria (Nick) Mays and their young children; Ellie and Dean DeJoe, Jeremiah Buchholz, Blair Nelson and Gianna Mays. Also surviving is his beloved cat "Sophie" and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers Walter & Norris "Buddy" Lawton and two sisters Beverly Sandell and Patricia Braidich, whom he was especially close to and was considered his "partner in crime".A Celebration of Life will be held a later date. The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut Street, Dunkirk, NY 14048.Arrangements are by Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, Forestville.
