Pella, IA
Ron Wauters, son of Achiel and Helen Van Otegham Wauters, was born on February 12, 1949, in Grinnell, Iowa, and passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 77. A graduate of the Victor, Iowa high school class of 1967, he met his wife, Cherie Cronbaugh, during their high school years. They married at St. James Lutheran Church in Victor and shared 38 years of marriage.
Ron served as CFO at Pella Regional Health Center for 42 years, bringing dedication and care to his work and the community he loved. After retirement, he found great joy on his acreage, where he spent his days planting trees, building bluebird houses, playing pickleball, and sharing quiet, meaningful time with family and friends. His deep connection to the Pella area was reflected in his honorable service in the Army Reserves, his membership in the Victor American Legion, and his faithful membership at Trinity Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Cherie of Pella; their children, Christine (Dan) White of Oxford, Iowa, and her children Nick Gates, Sam Gates, and Ellie White; Stephanie (Bob) Williams of Barrington, Illinois, and her children Bobby and Charlotte; Aaron (Mandy) Wauters of Geneva, Illinois, and his children Will and Nolan; and Blaine (Kato) Wauters of Woodruff, Wisconsin, and his children Leighton and Eavan. Ron is also survived by his siblings Marilyn Collum, Joe Wauters, and Jerry Wauters, a beloved aunt, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Achiel Wauters, his stepdaughter Jennie Wilson, his sister-in-law Crystal Van Waus, and his brother-in-law Dennis Moon.
