November 11, 1936— March 5, 2026
Brunswick, OH
Ronald Theodore Fritz, Sr., 89, of Brunswick, died March 5 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was the loving husband of Carol (Murry) Fritz, to whom he was married for more than 60 years.
Born November 11, 1936, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Theodore and Ottilla Fritz, Ron graduated from Perry High School in Pittsburgh and attended Carnegie Mellon University. He proudly served in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard and later retired as an engineering manager from Plant Systems in North Olmsted. A longtime member of the Brunswick Eagles Aerie 3505, he served as treasurer for many years.
Ron found his greatest joy in his family. He cherished watching his children participate in sports and activities while they were growing up, but nothing compared to the delight he took in attending his grandchildren’s events. An avid bowler and golfer, he rolled two 299 games and later achieved his first hole in one. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he also became a devoted supporter of the Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Fritz. Ron is survived by his wife Carol; three sons, Ronald T. Fritz Jr. (Lisa) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Kevin P. Fritz (Cheryl) of Medina, and David T. Fritz (Lelia) of Perrysburg; a daughter, Julie A. (Fritz) Divozzo (Jason) of Oakland Township, Michigan; and six grandchildren, Kyle Fritz of Medina, Ethan Fritz of Streetsboro, Matthew Fritz of Cincinnati, Megan Fritz of Perrysburg, Sydney Divozzo of Miami, Florida, and Mallory Divozzo of Oakland Township, Michigan.
