Born on May 19, 1950, in Harvey, Illinois, Ron lived a life marked by dedication to his work, faith, and the people he cared about.Ron devoted much of his career to serving others. He worked in the Security Department at Ingalls Hospital and also served as a part-time policeman with the Posen Police Department. His commitment to these roles reflected his sense of responsibility and care for his community.A devout Catholic, Ron's strong faith was a cornerstone of his life. He found solace and strength in his beliefs and was an active participant in his church community. His faith guided him through life's challenges and brought him closer to those who shared his devotion. Ron was also a Knight of Columbus.Ron had a deep love for reading, particularly history books. This passion for learning and understanding the past was something he cherished throughout his life. He also had a special bond with his two beloved cats, Sammie and Andy, who brought him great joy and companionship.He is survived by his sister Deborah Childers and nephew Michael Childers. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Ronald Strzelczyk and Florence Strzelczyk.Ron will be remembered fondly by many friends who were touched by his kindness and warmth. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.Visitation Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Hickey Memorial Chapel, 4201 W 147th Street, Midlothian Illinois from 9AM until Prayer Service at 10:30AM, going to St Christopher Church/St Augustine Parish for 11AM Mass.
