Ronald Lester Poole

May 29, 1952 February 3, 2026

Reno, NV

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Lester Poole, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend. Ronald passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer III in the Signal Corps. His commitment to precision and leadership carried into his civilian life, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Data Processing from Cameron University and went on to a successful career with Silver State Schools Credit Union. As Operations Manager and later ATM Manager, he oversaw all SSSCU ATMs in Reno and Las Vegas — a role he approached with diligence and pride.

A man of cherished routines, Ronald found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a dedicated Saturday morning golfer known for his brisk pace, and a Wednesday night bowler who achieved a perfect 300 game at Suncoast Casino in December 2008. A Chicago native at heart, he remained a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bulls. He also enjoyed a strong drink, a good movie, and cruising the seas alongside his wife.

Ronald shared more than 20 years of marriage with his beloved wife, May. Their life together was built on companionship, mutual respect, and shared adventures. He also maintained a respectful and positive relationship with his former spouse, Myong, the mother of his three sons.

Throughout his battle with cancer, Ronald faced each day with strength, dignity, and quiet resolve. True to who he was, he rarely complained, instead continuing to offer reassurance and steady support to those around him, even as he endured his own struggles.

Ronald will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service, consistency, and quiet love lives on through his family and all whose lives he touched.

Military Funeral Honors services will be held on Thursday, March 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Mem, Boulder City, NV 89005.
