Ronald Lee Newton

Ronald Lee Newton, 72, of Richards, Missouri, passed away on March 7, 2026, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Born on May 24, 1953, in Nevada to Willie Junior and Marjorie (Warner) Newton, Ron grew up in Vernon County and graduated from Walker High School. He spent more than thirty years as a truck driver for Johnson-Baker Trucking. Ron found deep satisfaction in riding horses, raising rabbits, farming, and especially in the quiet peace of fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, whom he married on June 17, 2023; his children, Tracy Byram (Ashley) of Nevada, Crystal Stone of Stockton, and Rachel Stone of Joplin; five grandchildren, Meadow Slate, Leah Byram, Donna Byram, Tracey Byram, Garrett Byram, and Daven Newton; one great-grandchild, Eli; his sister, Cathy Beisley; and many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Justin Byram, siblings Donna Hobbs, Billy Wayne Newton, Jackie Paul Newton, and Cynthia Caviness, and a grandson, Braxton Newton.

Those who knew him will remember a man who lived simply and sincerely, finding joy in the land, his animals, and time spent with family. Though he is gone from sight, his presence remains in the hearts of those who loved him.
