Ronald Richardson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Gilliam Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 14, 2026.Keokee, VA-Ronald Keith Richardson, 75, passed away early Thursday morning, March 12, 2026 at Johnson City Medical Center, following an extended illness.He was a lifelong resident of Keokee and a 1969 graduate of Keokee High School. Ronald spent 32 years working in coal mines as an electrical engineer, having worked for Jericol Mining, Eimco Equipment and Lee Norse Equipment. Ronald loved hunting and his favorite game was bear, wild hog, coon and rabbit. Ronald was the ultimate family man, being devoted and spending as much time as possible with them. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Keokee.He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Scott Richardson; his grandparents, Rev. Walter and Nettie Richardson; his parents, Hazel and Conda Richardson; brothers, Gary Richardson and Bill G. Bailey; niece, Vanessa Richardson; father and mother-in-law, George and Lucy Short; and brother-in-law, Woodie and Nelva Jarnagin.Ronald is survived by his wife of 57, Willie June Richardson; daughter, Amy Jo Minor (Ronald Patrick) of Jonesville, VA; grandsons, Cody Richardson (Haliegh), Dylan Richardson (Candice), Peyton Minor (Makenzie) and Jacob Haynes; granddaughters, Hannah Padgett and Ciera Wright (Adam); great grandchildren, Brian Scott Richardson, Reagan Edwards, Jameson Padgett, Caroline Padgett, Jessie Christian, Sophie Christian, Maya Christian, Amara Richardson, Jayden Carroll, Bentlee Lewis, Ian Lewis and Sawyer Lewis, Mia June Minor and Tilly Wright; daughter-in-law, Diane Haynes; sister-in-law, Lois Richardson; and a host of nieces and nephews, and many friends.The family will receive friends 5:00pm – 7:00pm Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Gilliam Funeral Home, 618 Wood Ave. W., Big Stone Gap, VA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Bill Hughes officiating.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
