Ronald Davis ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors - Hodgson Chapel on Feb. 26, 2026.Ronald Jurell Davis, 82 passed away peacefully on Feb 23,2026 at St. Joseph's Hospital holding tightly to his brother's hand. He was born on January 26, 1944, in Savannah, GA to Jurell and Thelma Whittle Davis. Ronnie graduated from H.V. Jenkins High School in 1962. He was draftsman at Union Camp for years before going into home building, following his Uncle Alvin L. Davis. After building houses for several years, he retired from the ILA 1475 Clerks and Checkers Union after 25+ years. He was a member of the Alee Temple Clown unit for several years before being the founder of the Keystone Cops as Officer Badge #1. He loved shooting shotguns as a member of Forest City Gun Club. His greatest accomplishment was shooting 499/500. He had many boats and loved the salt water and spent many days with his daughter, Darby. He had expensive taste for cars with younger brother, Robbie. If it wasn't cars, it was buying guitars. Being 9 years apart in age, they were inseparable and best friends. Ronnie was Robbie's biggest hero throughout life.In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the light of his life, Darby Lee Davis Sullivan. He is also preceded by Alvin Lee Davis and Lamar V "BO" Davis, his father's brothers from Tybee Island, GA. Lastly, he is preceded by his soulmate and dear friend, Janet Potter Redmond.He is survived by his best friend and brother, Robbie "Snake" Davis and his wife Michele "Missy" Davis. Ronnie's grandchildren, Whittle Brynn Sullivan "Whitt", Styles Christopher Sullivan, and spitting image of his daughter, Sayle Leigh Sullivan - his "Sayle Bug"; his niece Robyn "Rockin" Palmer, and her children Carson Nora Palmer, Chaz Palmer, and Whalen Palmer. He is also survived by the matriarch of the Davis family, Joyce S. Davis, CEO to this day of Alvin L Davis. Many cousins and relatives of the Davis family from Savannah GA and the Whittle family from Fitzgerald GA and Rincon GA.A celebration of his life will be held Monday, March 2, 2026, at Fox and Weeks Hodgson Chapel. Visitation from 10-11, service at 11 and burial immediately following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens where he will be laid to rest next to his daughter and mother.A gathering will take place after the burial at Tubbys Tankhouse in Thunderbolt with everyone invited.In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Vincent's Academy for his granddaughter, Sayle Sullivan.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
