Ronald I Williams

Ronald I Williams

July 15, 1953 March 6, 2026

Chicago, IL

Ronald I. Williams, better known as Ron, was a man of boundless faith, infectious laughter, and legendary flavors. Born on July 15, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, he passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026. A proud Marine, he enlisted on February 8, 1971, and served until March 17, 1975, earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnamese Service Medal for his service during the Vietnam War.

Ron lived his faith deeply, spending quiet hours reading Bible scripture and sharing its wisdom with fellow veterans. He found purpose in visiting the sick and shut-ins, offering companionship so that no one in his circle ever felt forgotten. A natural encourager, he poured his heart into writing self-motivating literature and worked steadily on his autobiography, hoping to inspire others toward self-forgiveness and their fullest potential. He balanced this reflective side with a love for science fiction movies, always captivated by the infinite possibilities of the universe.

To know Ron was to laugh. His quick wit could brighten the darkest room, yet his most cherished ministry unfolded in the kitchen. A master cook, he expressed love through his meals, drawing people in with both his humor and his counsel, and always sending them home with a plate.

Ron is survived by his children: Contessa Williams, Asia Williams, Ronald Williams Jr., Thomas Williams, Baron Williams, Nitara Williams, and Jasmine Williams; twelve grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings: Carl Williams, Sylvia Hart, Michael Williams, Darryl Williams, Marsha Williams, and half-sisters Phyllis McCraven and Cheryl McCraven. He was predeceased by his brother Calvin Williams, sisters Janice Williams, Hilda Romero, and Nancy Williams, and by his parents James Williams and Mary Williams.
