Ronald "Ron" Hutchins

Ronald "Ron" Hutchins

August 10, 1962 March 5, 2026

Dover, NH

Ronald Hutchins, 63, of Dover, New Hampshire, passed away at his home on March 5, 2026. Born on August 10, 1962, in Concord, New Hampshire, to Fay and Evelyn (Chase) Hutchins, Ron grew up attending camp meetings in Freeport, Maine, where he first met Robin, who would become his wife of 42 years. Their relationship, marked by an enduring pull that brought them back together through the years, remained a steady foundation in his life.

Ron graduated from Pembroke Academy and later from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in civil technology. He spent much of his youth at McNamara Farm alongside his best friend Jeff and Jeff’s parents, Chip and Joan, whom he considered his second family. In 1984, he married Robin and purchased his parents’ home, where he raised their three children, Kristina, Korey, and Kaitlyn. With care and skill, he made numerous additions to the house, creating a warm and lasting home for his family.

For most of his life, Ron poured his energy into D&K Construction, his excavation business, working side by side with his son Korey. Their days were often filled with the loving bickering that came from years of close collaboration. When not working, he found simple pleasures in watching New England sports and Hallmark movies, frequently with his granddaughters. He loved the outdoors, whether fishing and camping at Cold River Basin, taking long family road trips across the country, or gathering with friends and family at “the river,” their cherished waterfront property filled with music, swimming, and laughter.

Above all, Ron cherished time with his grandchildren. Weekends were reserved for “daddy and grandpa days” with Aaliyah and Brieah, filled with four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and ice skating. He made it a priority to visit his eldest daughter Kristina and her husband Stan wherever they lived, traveling to California, Nebraska, Texas, and North Dakota to see them and their children, Natalie and Stanley. He fulfilled a lifelong dream by taking his family to Alaska to visit his honorary daughter Kylea and her husband Jason, spending time with their children Quinn and Willow. There he enjoyed bear viewing in Katmai National Park, fishing on Kodiak Island, cruising the Kenai Fjords, and countless other adventures, always generous with those he loved.

Ron was a steadfast presence in the lives of his family and friends, always ready to lend a hand with any project, large or small. He and Robin opened their home to many over the years, offering support and shelter to those who needed it. He will be remembered for making Sunday morning pancakes, growing his hat collection, lighting backyard campfires, enjoying his pumpkin spice coffee, and sharing his humor and easy way of connecting with everyone he met.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Fay Hutchins, his siblings Sharon Baldner and Robert Hutchins, and is survived by his loving wife Robin (Felt) Hutchins, his children and their families, his mother Evelyn (Chase) Hutchins, his brother Peter Hutchins, his sisters Cheryl Hutchins and Shirley Lafrazia, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues.
