Ronald Hiram Reagan

May 8, 1943 February 25, 2026

Ocala, FL

Ronald Hiram Reagan, 82, of Ocala, Florida, peacefully entered his heavenly rest on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Born on May 8, 1943, in Molena, Georgia, to Sallie Ruth Fowler and H.C. “Buck” Reagan, he was the oldest of four brothers. As a young boy Ronald accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, a faith that remained a source of comfort to his family throughout his life.

He attended Jonesboro High School in Jonesboro, Georgia, graduating with the class of 1961, and later took night courses at Georgia State College. In 1963 he enlisted in the Army Reserves, serving at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia, where he trained as a Green Beret and earned his wings as a paratrooper. Ronald dedicated much of his working life to service, becoming a firefighter with the Clayton County Fire Department in 1977. He formed deep and lasting friendships there and retired from the department in 2002. He also worked at Ford Motor Company, Central Auto Parts, Riverdale Auto Parts, and Sears appliance repair, earning a reputation as a man who could fix just about anything.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Marie Jesse Reagan; his four children from his first marriage to Linda Camp Reagan: Stephanie Parrott (Mike) of Covington, Georgia, Stacie Peterson of Pendleton, South Carolina, Carmen Farmer (Brian) of Dallas, Georgia, and Steve Reagan (Jeanine) of Flowery Branch, Georgia; stepchildren Valinda Greer of Washington and Paul Ford of Tennessee; brothers Frank Reagan (Pat), Edwin Reagan (Anne), and Charles Reagan (Pam); numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a step great-granddaughter, with another great-grandchild expected in July. He was preceded in death by his parents and by Evelyn Martin.

A devoted husband, father, and papa, Ronald had a special way of making each family member feel cherished. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones, reading his Bible and sharing devotions with Marie, fishing, golfing, playing cards, walking on the beaches of Panama City, riding his tractor at their home in Brooks, Georgia, watching old Westerns and documentaries, and listening to his favorite music. He loved to cook, especially his jambalaya and Brunswick stew, and was known for his strength, godly wisdom, bravery, integrity, exemplary work ethic, and warm, hearty laugh. A true Southern gentleman with a loving heart, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
