Ronald Earl Wheeler Sr., 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Henry C. Nevins Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Methuen, Massachusetts.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on October 21, 1930, to Susie Mildred “Millie” (Sparks) Wheeler and William “Jack” John Wheeler, Ron was the second of three sons. He grew up in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and graduated from Everett Vocational High School in 1949. In 1957, he married Carol J. LeShane; the couple shared 61 years of marriage until her death in 2019.

Ron served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era, stationed in Germany, and received an Honorable Discharge in 1955 along with the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He spent his career as a Linotype operator in a print shop. A man of many interests, he enjoyed playing the piano, softball, bowling, and cards with family and friends, as well as filming and editing home movies. He was a dedicated Freemason for 58 years, a Scottish Rite Mason, and a Shriner.

He is survived by his three children, Debra L. (Wheeler) Murphy and her husband Thomas M. Murphy of Belmont, New Hampshire, Ronald E. Wheeler Jr. and his wife Jennifer J. Wheeler of West Warwick, Rhode Island, and Wendy J. (Wheeler) Schofield and her partner Wayne Freedman of Lawrence, Massachusetts; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Ron cherished his two brothers and their spouses, along with his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert “Bob” Wheeler and Richard “Rick” Wheeler.
