LTC Ronald E. DuBay, USA, Retired
Ron DuBay, 79, of Dubois, passed away on February 22, 2026 in Casper, surrounded by his family.
A career military officer, he was born in Pontiac, Michigan on March 13, 1946, to Wilfred and Rosemary DuBay, the second of four children. A true patriot, after briefly serving as a Police Officer in Troy, Michigan, he chose to enlist in the US Army during Vietnam. He was selected for Officer Candidate School (OCS) and then Helicopter Flight School. After graduating, he served courageously in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971, receiving numerous awards and citations including 2 Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, 29 Air Medals with Valor, to include the Distinguished Flying Cross.
His greatest accomplishment however was his family. His high school sweetheart and wife of almost 62 years, Marcia Morris, was the love of his life and his soulmate. They had four wonderful children together, Patti Dunlap (Dean), Dawn Hautamaki (Rick), Dianne Ford (Brett), and Dave DuBay (Angie). They have 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, as well as his sister Jeannie and brother John. He is survived by his loving wife Marcia, and brother Dick DuBay (Carol).
The family would like to thank the SageWest Hospital in Lander, the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Elkhorn Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, and Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper for their excellent care and recognition of his service to country and family.
