White Cloud, MI
Ronald Dale Todd, 91, of White Cloud, Michigan, passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Born on the family farm in Barton Township, Section One, Newaygo County, Michigan, on July 22, 1934, to Maynard (Jake) Todd and Margaret (Maggie Cline) Todd, Ron grew up in Barton Township alongside his cousin Gerald Todd, who was like a brother to him. Together they swam in the local swimming hole, played in the barn, learned the ways of farming, and enjoyed their grandmother’s gingersnap and sugar cookies. He attended Davenport School, a one-room schoolhouse, with many family members and friends, later graduating from Reed City High School and attending Davenport University in Grand Rapids.
Ron worked at Wolverine World Wide in Big Rapids for 34 years, advancing to a managerial role and later sharing his expertise in operations in Arkansas and Puerto Rico before retiring in 1996. In 1973, he married Betty Greene, and together they built a life grounded in hard work, love, and determination. Their shared love of music and dancing brought them joy for more than 50 years.
After retirement, Ron served on the board of the Moose Lodge in Fremont and managed the Northern Angora Goat Ranchers Co-op, helping farmers market their products effectively. He was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman, and farmer who was always ready to lend a hand. Whether baling hay, repairing machinery, installing a walk-in freezer, tending livestock, shearing sheep, fixing plumbing, laying hardwood floors, or offering wisdom to his family, Ron generously shared his many talents. He took special delight in helping his children and grandchildren with farming on the ancestral home where he had grown up.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Betty, sons Daniel (Nancy) Todd, David Todd, and Darcy (Lynette) Todd; daughters Tina (Jeff) Roeloffs, Dawn (Mike) Coon, Liz Stout, Tracy (Pete) Jordan, and Linda Eastling; thirty-seven grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and Jamie Gawne. He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Olive (Eichenberg) Todd, his parents Maynard Jacob and Margaret (Maggie Cline) Todd, his daughter Lori (Tim) Schafer, granddaughter Krista Schafer, and grandson Kyle Schafer.
