Ronald Dean Stanley, age 72, of Oakfield Township, Cedar Springs, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, March 12, 2026 at his home. The son of Ronald Eugene & Wilma Dean (Fetter) Stanley, he was born on September 4, 1953 in Lima, Ohio.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Ron served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Benteler Automotive where he worked as a master welder and automation technician. Ron was a lifelong avid reader, enjoyed watching movies – especially Westerns, and delighted in taking his dogs to the park and more recently feeding the birds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rhonda Stanley; and the love of his life, Paula Baker.
Surviving are his children, Yevette & Jason Ray Celina, Ohio, Kristy Mowery of Cedar Springs, Michigan, Valerie Stanley & Ranard Q. Jones of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Sharlana Baker & Jon Pitch of Comstock Park; his former wife and friend, Patricia Ann Fockler; his grandchildren, Dezieray L. Stanley, Garrett A. Mowery, Jacob C. Ray, Jaymee Stanley, Johnny Pitch, Layton Mowery, Mike Pitch, Octavion Ray, Shelby Mowery, Stephen R. Stanley-Coats, Taliah Estes, and Jacob C. Ray; his great-grandchildren, Alayah Coats, Audrey Byrom, Charlie Byrom, D.J. Craft, Finley Estes, Kayden Coats, Laniyah Stanley, Mila Rose, Sammy Inclan, Taji Cason, Theordore Estes, Titan Potts, Vada Ray, Zayne Smith, and Zellah Smith; a sister, Reva Ellen Gary Prater of Spencerville, Ohio; a brother, Rick Leroy & Mary Stanley of Cridersville, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Myer, Joshua Prater, Shawna Theirs-Kohlresier, Stephanie Theis, and Zachary Prater; and his two faithful canine companions, Sarge and Sassy Sue.
