Chipley, FL
Ronald D. Sloan, born March 25, 1950, in Jackson County, Florida, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Vitas Healthcare in Panama City, Florida. He lived a simple, joyful life centered on his deep love for family and the quiet pleasures that brought him contentment. Ronald was the last surviving member of his siblings. He cherished fishing, particularly bream fishing, and as a younger man enjoyed gardening alongside his mother, where he displayed a genuine talent for growing vegetables. He also found delight in antique shopping, browsing flea markets, and collecting vinyl records.
Those who knew him remembered Ronald as a man who was always happy and never seen angry. He took pleasure in Chinese and Mexican cuisine and had a particular fondness for hot wings. Above all, his unwavering faith in Christ guided his life, as he placed God first in everything he did. Ronald shared a deep and abiding bond with Debbie Lewis, the love of his life.
He is survived by his daughter Amanda Sloan Reese and her husband David Reese; his son Ronnie Sloan Jr. and wife Alison Sloan; his daughter Christie Sloan Wright and husband Tommy; and his son Jason Lee. He was a proud grandfather to Olivia, Hannah, Ryan, Kai, Misty, Brittany, Wyatt, Miranda, Mariah, and Brylen.
Ronald was preceded in death by his daughter Teresa Sloan; his sisters Inez Sloan Register and Janice Morris; his brothers Ivey Sloan, Lonnie Sloan, Calvin Sloan, Freddie Paul Morris, and Gaylon Sloan; and his parents, Clarence and Wennell Broome Sloan.
