Ronald D. “Ron” Mazon

Ronald D. “Ron” Mazon, of Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania, passed away of natural causes on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born in Greenville, Pennsylvania, on August 14, 1960, Ron was the son of Harold J. and Ida M. Shaffer Mazon. A 1978 graduate of Lakeview High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduation and later served in the U.S. Army Reserves, receiving an honorable discharge.

Ron worked for many years at Choice Products in Stoneboro before becoming self-employed. He also operated a firewood business for many years. A dedicated homesteader who loved nature and the outdoors, he was a naturalist and herbalist who spent much of his time outside and generously shared his knowledge with others.

Above all, Ron cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters, Jessica L. (Brian) Manuel and Cindy M. Mazon, his son, Dustin J. Mazon, eleven grandchildren, and one on the way. He is also survived by his sisters, Wanda (Bob) Kautchick, Susan Hudson, Becky (Frank) Deets, and Bonnie Russell; his brothers, James Mazon and Timothy Mazon; his step-sister, Beth Mazon; and his step-brother, Harold Mazon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Stephen Mazon.
