Ronald Corlion Meares

Ronald Corlion Meares, 79, of Whiteville, passed away on Thursday evening, March 12, 2026, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Born on December 29, 1946, he was the son of the late Roscoe Meares and Larue Davis Meares-Todd.

Ronald lived a full life surrounded by family who cherished his steady presence and quiet strength. He is survived by his three children, Nicholas Lynn Meares, Gary Ronald Meares (Penny), and Rebecca Ann Meares; grandchildren Patrick James Baldwin (Hannah) and Matthew Baldwin; great-grandchild Bristol Elizabeth Baldwin; his grand-dog Peanut; and beloved cat Tippy. He is also survived by his brother Elvin Meares (Cathy), special family members Brandon Wittiker, Faye Shaw Britt, and James Shaw, two nieces, two nephews, and several loving cousins.

Those who knew him will remember the warmth he brought to his family and the deep bonds he shared with those closest to him.
