Ronald Austin Martin

Ronald Austin Martin, 66, of Newberry, Florida, passed away on March 12, 2026, in High Springs, Florida. Born on July 26, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Terry F. Martin and Patricia J. Moore, he was preceded in death by his father, Terry F. Martin, and his brother, Danny W. Martin (Bonnie).

Ronald worked as an electrician and dedicated more than 20 years to the maintenance department at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. He was a longtime member of IBEW Local 1205 in Gainesville. He found deep satisfaction in the outdoors, spending his time fishing, hunting, farming, and raising cattle and pigs. He especially cherished the memories of growing up with his siblings in the watermelon fields of Newberry on his grandpa Austin Martin’s farm.

He is survived by his sisters, Cynthia J. Blanton (Gary) and Teresa Keppel, along with extended family and friends. Ronald will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of family, and his appreciation for the simple joys of country life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
