Ronald Niewolak ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Wasik Funeral Home - Shelby Township on Feb. 28, 2026.Ronald Andrew NiewolakBeloved husband of the late Helen (nee Pastuszka), passed away on February 27, 2026 at the age of 93.He was born on October 27, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Andrew and Anna Niewolak. Ron graduated from Denby High School in 1950 and worked as an IBM Operator prior to enlisting in the United States Navy in 1952. He served on the USS Waccamaw as a fleet oiler. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1956 and often spoke fondly of his experience in the Navy. He married the love of his life Helen Pastuszka after being discharged. Together they enjoyed many happy family memories for 67 years until her passing in 2023.Ron joined General Motors as a Technical Stylist in 1957. He had a sucessful 31 year career and held design patents in his name and General Motors. After his retirement in 1988 he spent time golfing, traveling, and spending time with Helen and their three sons.Ron was a loving father of Steven (Rosemary), Roger (Terezia), and the late Timothy. Loving and proud Grandfather of Kelly and Lauren Niewolak and grand puppies Lilo, Kenzi, and Gigi.Visitation Sunday, March 8 2-7 PM with a 6 PM Scripture Service at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 22 Mile Rd). Instate Monday, March 9th starting at 10:30 until 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church 54045 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 24 Mile Rd.), Shelby Twp.In lieu of flowers the family appreciates contributions to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Michigan Humane Society.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
