Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors - Royal Oak on Mar. 6, 2026.Roman Duane Pickens Jr., a resident of Huntington Woods, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the age of 67. A son of Roman and Rose Pickens, he was born on April 5, 1958 in Royal Oak, Michigan. He graduated from Berkley High School in 1976. Roman then made his career as a project manager in the alarm and security systems industry.Roman enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially loved traveling up north to Rogers City with his wife, Nancy. Together they spent much of their time caring for and maintaining their property there. Roman was also an avid car enthusiast. He enjoyed driving race cars and regularly participated in the Woodward Dream Cruise, where he proudly drove his red 1974 GTO. He also enjoyed drag racing and participated in road track racing at Waterford Hills Raceway. When he was not racing, Roman took great pride in maintaining and caring for his car.Beloved husband of Nancy. Dear brother of Barbara Pickens-Hedeen and Renee Blackburn. Best friend of David Osterhout and John Stevens. Devoted owner of Bailey, his beloved mixed-breed "little girl." Roman was preceded in death by his sisters, Yvonne Lampela and Ramona Hill, and his cherished beagles, Buddy and Kody.A Celebration of Life for Roman will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 12:00 pm at the Berkley VFW Post 9222, 3025 Coolidge Hwy., Berkley, 48072. There will be a Luncheon served during the memorial. Friends and family will continue to gather and share memories until 4:00 pm.Donations in memory of Roman may be made according to his family's wishes.
