May 2, 1948— March 13, 2026
New Albany, IN
Roma Jean Warner Beverly, 77, of New Albany, Indiana, formerly of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on May 2, 1948, in Washington Court House, Ohio, to Ray D. and Maxine Wilt Warner, Roma graduated from Miami Trace High School in 1966 and attended Kent State University. In 1994, she moved from Dayton, Virginia, to Jeffersonville, Indiana, and lived there until relocating to New Albany in November 2025.
Roma and her husband, Joseph William Beverly, whom she married on January 30, 1972, were deeply involved with Christ Gospel Church. Together they pastored a congregation in Dayton, Virginia, for ten years. After moving to Jeffersonville, she served as the church bookkeeper until her retirement at age 72. She found great joy in gardening, tending her flower beds with particular pride in her collection of day lilies and an abundance of pansies that brightened her yard.
Roma was preceded in death by her father in 2008, her mother in 2022, and her brother Richard M. Warner in 2020. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; daughters and sons-in-law Christy and Bryan Wiskeman of Headwaters, Virginia, and Mary and Billy Heil of New Albany; grandchildren Chase, Hazel, and Max; sister and brother-in-law Rebecca and Al Adams of Lebanon, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law Ron and Brenda Warner of Washington Court House; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Art Beverly and Linda Wilson Beverly of Grove City, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
