Roma Ferretti Fanton

Roma Ferretti Fanton

Fairfield, CT

Roma Ferretti Fanton of Fairfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at her home on March 6, 2026, at the age of 95, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 22, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Attilia Ferretti of Mineola, Long Island. Roma graduated from Adelphi University in 1952 with a BA in Early Childhood Education and taught elementary school on Long Island for several years. She lived in Weston and Westport before settling in Fairfield in 1974.

A dedicated member of her community, Roma worked as a broker for Merrill Lynch Realty in Fairfield and later devoted herself to philanthropy, organizing countless fundraising events for Emerge, Inc., a nonprofit supporting domestic violence survivors. Known warmly as the Greenfield Hill Party Hostess Deluxe, she had a gift for creating spirited and beautifully organized social gatherings. She was a longtime member of the Aspetuck Valley Country Club in Weston, located on the ancestral property of her husband’s family, and remained active in the Greenfield Hill and Southport Congregational Churches as well as the Sasqua Garden Club. She found great joy in photography and interior decorating.

Roma was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Dwight Fanton. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Joan Fanton of Weston, Massachusetts, and Roma Fanton Hoyt of Boothbay, Maine; her stepson, Jonathan Foster Fanton of Hamden, Connecticut; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her first cousin, Joan Mottino Kullman of Bradenton, Florida.
