Roland Denomme ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Godere - Guillot Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 5, 2026.Roland Joseph DenommeRoland Joseph Denomme, 84, of Norwich, Connecticut, passed away on March 4, 2026.Roland was born on November 29, 1941, in Norwich, Connecticut, to the late Romeo and Ida Denomme (Laporte). He attended Sacred Heart School and was a member of the Class of 1956 before graduating from Norwich Regional Technical School with the Class of 1960.Roland proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966 with Company C, 864th Engineer Battalion. During his service he was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Fort Walters, Texas; and served in Vietnam.Following his military service, Roland built a long career working in the trades. He was employed at Quality Steel Rule, W.F. Mulholland, and the Baltic Carpenter Shop before spending 33 years at Electric Boat, where he worked as a carpenter and later as a tool crib manager.Roland enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved watching classic Westerns and spending time cooking for family and friends.He is survived by his beloved wife, Muriel Denomme (Jolicoeur); his sister, Lorraine Hracyk and her husband John of North Stonington; his sons, Peter and Paul Denomme, daughter-in law Patrisha and grand-daughters Jaiden, Kahlen, Ava and Peighton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.Roland will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his hard work, and the quiet joy he found in the everyday moments of life.A Catholic Mass and Burial will be held at a future date.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
