Roland Humbs, Jr.

Roland Humbs, Jr., 62, of Martinez, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026. Born in Regensburg, Bavaria, he grew up in the neighboring village of Keilberg surrounded by his parents, brother, and grandmother. After training as an insurance agent, Roland pursued a varied career that included work as a web designer, advertising agent, co-owner of a restaurant, and mobile telephone representative. While working in Germany, he met his husband, Vincent Carl Bentley. The couple later moved to Augusta, where they married and shared the last ten years of Roland’s life.

Roland embraced his creative talents, designing and selling cement ornamentation on Etsy. He loved to dance, played the accordion, and had a deep appreciation for vintage clothing, which he proudly showcased on his Instagram. His greatest passion was his beloved schnoodle, Amelie. Though he cherished his life in Georgia, he dearly missed his homeland, and his remains will be returned to Germany to rest beside his parents in Keilberg.

He is survived by his husband, Vincent Carl Bentley; his brother, Thomas Humbs (Angelika); his nephew, Wolfgang Humbs; stepchildren Megan Finley (Claire), Caroline Bentley (David Olivencia), Christopher Bentley, and Rachael Bentley; and his faithful companion, Amelie. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Roland A. Humbs, Sr. and Martha Seiler Humbs.
