Roland Gonzales Sr., 70, of Stamford, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born on October 13, 1955, in Stamford to John and Gregory (Flores) Gonzales, he was a lifelong resident of the community and a proud member of the Stamford High School graduating class of 1974.
He married his high school sweetheart, Debbie Acosta, on November 30, 1973. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2025. Roland was a longtime member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and dedicated more than 37 years of his working life to Big Country Electric Coop in various roles.
Roland cherished time spent with his family and was a devoted sports fan who followed the Stamford Bulldogs, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Longhorns softball. He particularly enjoyed lively debates about the Texas Longhorns with his granddaughter, a Texas Tech Red Raiders graduate. In his leisure time, he found joy in boating on area lakes and playing golf with his close friends.
He is survived by his parents, John and Gregory Gonzales of Stamford; his daughter, Christi Tidrow and husband Rick of Breckenridge; his son, Roland Gonzales Jr. of Stamford; grandchildren Jadyn Cisneros and fiancé Austin Craig of Wichita Falls, Dylan Cisneros of Santo, Savana Henager and husband Hayden of Stamford, and Justin Gonzales of Stamford; great-granddaughter Brinley Henager of Stamford; his five sisters, Yolanda Martinez and husband Rudy of Stamford, Patti Lane and husband Scott of San Antonio, Becky Alambar and husband Lewis of San Antonio, Laura Gonzales of Stamford, and Amy Martin and husband Scot of Lake Brownwood; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
