He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who loved his family more than anything in the world. Roger was known for his playful sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. His joking spirit and warm personality brought joy to everyone who knew him.He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesville. He worked for 16 years at Walmart, where he built lasting friendships with coworkers and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.Roger leaves behind his loving wife of 16 years, Claudia Scott, and his beloved children, Ryan and Averey Scott and his honorary daughter Fallyn Flanary, who were the center of his life. He is also survived by his mother Doris Scott (late Roger Scott, Sr) He is survived by his three sisters, Michelle Hensley, Misty Miller, and Christy Jones (Jerry). One brother, David Wiles. Roger is alsosurvived by his mother in law Deborah Garrett (Denver). A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special Mamaw (Hazel).Rogers greatest joy in life was his family. He was the kind of person who could lighten any room with a joke, a smile or a story. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and laughter he shared will continue to live on in our hearts. His memory will forever be carried in the smiles of his children, the love of his wife, and the stories that will be told for years to come.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Jonesville. A service will follow with Pastor Robbie Haynes officiating.Per his wishes, Roger will then be cremated.Roger Dale Scott Jr., and his family are in the care of Pennington Gap Funeral Home.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
