Roger L. Martin

Roger L. Martin, 72, of Bedford, passed away on March 14, 2026 at his residence. Born on March 16, 1953 in Frostburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late Paul and LaVada (Donius) Martin. On April 12, 1997 in Bedford, he married Tina P. (May) Martin, who survives along with their children and step-daughter: Aubrie Davis of Mt. Savage, Maryland, Jared Martin of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Denielle Hickey and her husband Charles of Hampstead, North Carolina. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Tyler Davis and his wife Shayla, Ella, Sawyer, Miles, and Clara Hickey; a great-granddaughter, Riley Davis; and another great-granddaughter expected in July.

Roger graduated from Mt. Savage High School and attended Frostburg State University. He spent his entire career in the grocery business, beginning at Westins and Acme in Cumberland, Maryland, and retiring in 2019 as store manager of the Bedford Giant Eagle. He found quiet joy in working jigsaw puzzles, gardening, woodworking, watching science fiction movies, and following NFL football. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.

He was a devoted husband, father, step-father, and grandfather whose gentle presence and steady love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. At his request, there will be no public services, with burial held privately at Woods Church Cemetery.
