Roger Dobson

Roger Dobson, 83, of New Haven, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 9, 2026. Born on January 26, 1943, in Greensburg to the late Otis Dobson and Sybil Webster, he lived a life grounded in quiet strength and simple pleasures.

Roger retired from Kroger after many years of service and was a longtime member of Parkway Baptist Church. A United States Navy veteran, he found deep joy in the outdoors, where he was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his later years, he took great delight in watching the birds from his window.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Charlotte Hess Dobson; two daughters, Cindy (Mark) Mercer of Sorrento, Florida, and Millie Holt of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Shae (Blake) McCowan of Georgetown, Megan Mercer-Miles of Bardstown, and Andrew Mercer of New Haven; and several great-grandchildren.
