Roger Dale Scott Jr.

February 12, 1985 March 4, 2026

Jonesville, VA

Roger Dale Scott Jr., age 41, of Jonesville, passed away on March 4, 2026. Born on February 12, 1985, Roger was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend who loved his family more than anything in the world. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Dale Scott Sr., whom he adored.

Roger was known for his playful sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. His joking spirit and warm personality brought joy to everyone who knew him. A member of First Baptist Church of Jonesville, he worked for 16 years at Walmart, where he built lasting friendships with coworkers and was admired for his strong work ethic and dedication.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Claudia Scott, and his beloved children, Ryan and Averey Scott, along with his honorary daughter, Fallyn Flanary, who were the center of his life. Roger is also survived by his mother, Doris Scott, three sisters, Michelle Hensley, Misty Miller, and Christy Jones (Jerry), his brother, David Wiles, his mother-in-law, Deborah Garrett (Denver), a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his special Mamaw, Hazel.

Roger’s greatest joy was his family. He was the kind of person who could lighten any room with a joke, a smile, or a story. Though his time with them was far too short, the love he gave and the laughter he shared will continue to live on in their hearts, carried forward in the smiles of his children, the love of his wife, and the stories that will be told for years to come.
