Roger C. Moore, 78, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at his home on March 12, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on September 4, 1947, in Mount Vernon to the late Verle Moore and Venita (Hayes) Flanagan, he was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with those he loved. In 2010, he married Karen (Lopez) Moore, who survives him.

Roger is also survived by his children, Mark Moore and Morgan Moore; his grandson, Austin Moore; his great-grandchildren, Henli Moore and Trigg Moore; his stepchildren, Greg Sullivan and wife Nancy, Jeff Sullivan, and Jennifer Schubert and husband David; his step-grandchildren, Alec, Alexander, Jaxon, Hope, Josh, Noah, and Aubrey; his siblings, Barbara Frizzell and Mike Flanagan and wife Kris; his father-in-law, Joe Lopez; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ronnie Moore, Joyce Koch, and Teresa Falcone.

For 34 years, Roger worked as a Boilermaker for Local 363 out of Belleville, Illinois, retiring in 2002. An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in hunting, fishing, and gardening, spending many hours immersed in the natural world he loved. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, treasured grandfather, dear brother and brother-in-law, and a beloved friend to many.
