Rodrick Hedrick

March 1, 1960 March 7, 2026

Princeton, WV

Rodrick “Roddy” Hedrick, born March 1, 1960, in Bluefield, West Virginia, passed away on March 7, 2026. A beloved minister at the Memorial Church of Christ in Princeton, Rod served as a guiding light to many, sharing the good news of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with a passion that touched countless lives and left a legacy that will be felt for generations.

Beyond the pulpit, Rod found deep joy in his work with the Raleigh County School System as a bus driver. He took pride in being the first smiling face many children saw each morning, genuinely loving “his” kids and drawing immense happiness from them. He also cherished the bonds he shared with his co-workers and the lasting friendships formed there.

A proud graduate of Bluefield High School, Class of 1978, Rod excelled both academically and as an outstanding baseball player. He attended Concord College in Athens, West Virginia. An avid outdoorsman, he treasured his time hunting, fishing, and simply being in nature.

Rod was a God-fearing man who found his greatest pleasure in time spent with family and friends, creating memories that will live on in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald H. Hedrick, and his mother, Myra Hedrick. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Hedrick, of Beaver, West Virginia; his sister, Donna Ray, of Wichita, Kansas; his children, Sarah (Hedrick) and Shawn Redman of Shady Springs, West Virginia, and their children Braylon and Hadley; Tim and Mandi Hedrick of Raleigh, North Carolina, and their son Declan; and nephews Austin Ray of Dallas, Texas, and Adam Ray of Wichita, Kansas. Rod’s warm spirit, loving nature, and enduring faith will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
